New Spring-Summer specials: dive in!
Spring has arrived! The sun is shining, the sea temperature is already 23C and our Red Sea reefs and wrecks are teeming with marine life. So… it’s time to book your diving holiday! With our new Spring-Summer specials, a seven-night stay at Camel Hotel, including breakfast, airport transfers and five days diving costs just 392 Euros per person sharing. Alternatively, book a stay at any hotel in Sharm, then choose your dive pack: three days' diving costs 135 Euros, or five days just 200 Euros, including free nitrox and transfers. We also have learn to dive offers, and special rates for groups. All offers are valid until 15 March and during 15 May – 15 July 2013, subject to availability.
Sharm: still the best place to relax and dive
Egypt seems never far from the news these days, and several of our guests have been in touch recently to check on us: thank you all for your kind wishes! We’re pleased to report that Sharm is far from troublespots elsewhere in Egypt, and remains unaffected: flights are on schedule, our guests are moving around the resort and relaxing at our restaurants and bars as normal; our dive boats still depart daily to world-class dive sites; and we’re topping up our vitamin D levels in the sunshine every day! In this quieter season, often we have even the most popular dive sites to ourselves, which of course means great chances of spotting shy but spectacular marine life. We look forward to diving with you this year!
COMING SOON: our new boat Camel Tribe
As Camel regulars know, it’s quite rare to spot Ian, our Tec manager, at the office. Finally we’ve discovered the real reason for his absence from work… he’s been masterminding the building of our beautiful new boat Camel Tribe! This is the first boat we’ve designed ourselves and it’s been a great opportunity to include all the features we’ve always wanted, to give YOU an overall better diving experience. Camel Tribe is receiving her finishing touches in dry dock before – with great anticipation! – we launch her in the next few weeks. Stay tuned!
Project AWARE features Camel
We’re delighted to be chosen as Project AWARE’s Featured Dive Centre this month, one of only five dive centres worldwide! Thanks to all our divers and staff who’ve taken part in our Eco Tribe initiatives to conserve our beautiful Red Sea, and check out our My Ocean page for our photos, videos and news of our passion for ocean protection. Together with partner dive centres like us, Project AWARE aims to take conservation efforts to a whole new level in 2013. With your support we look forward to continuing our efforts together in future!
PHOTOS: the ocean is our office
Contrary to what you may imagine, life as a diving instructor is not all hard work! By way of proof, the latest album by our talented photographer Adolfo Maciocco shows each member of the Camel Dive Club team where they enjoy life the most: underwater. Whether it’s guiding student divers around Naama Bay, showing off the Giant Frogfish at Ras Zatar, or snorkelling at Gordon Reef, everyone has their favourite site. And here’s a challenge: test your knowledge of all things Camel by seeing if you can identify the instructor AND the dive site, before reading the photo captions! With the ocean as our office, this really is one of the best jobs in the world!
See you in London next month!
We’re doing things slightly differently at this year’s London International Dive Show at Excel, 23-24 March. This time we’ll be there without our own stand, but will be visible all the same: look out for the Camel team around the hall, wearing distinctive red Camel sweatshirts. You can still book with one of us at the show to take advantage of our show specials, including free equipment rental, and at the Egypt stand (420) enter our famous raffle to win Mares equipment or a dive holiday at Camel. One thing that hasn’t changed is the show’s excellent content. With live presentations by scuba gurus, photo workshops, and holiday and equipment offers, we’re looking forward to another lively weekend dedicated to all things diving. See you there!
Join our international community on Facebook
Our community of like-minded divers just keeps on growing. We’ve welcomed divers from Turkey, UK, Italy, Germany, Egypt, Norway and Portugal to our Facebook page in the last week. Although our fans speak different languages, they all share the same passion for diving which they demonstrate not only by posting photos, videos and comments about their Camel experience, but also by staying in touch when diving holidays are distant memory! If you’ve already liked our page – thank you – and please share it with your friends!
