Camel Dive Club & Hotel earns Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence award
We are very proud to have just received a Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence award. The accolade, which honours hospitality excellence, is given only to establishments that consistently achieve outstanding traveller reviews on TripAdvisor, and is extended to qualifying businesses worldwide. Only 10 percent of accommodations listed on TripAdvisor receive this prestigious award. “We strive to offer all our guests a memorable experience, and this award is evidence that our hard work is translating into positive traveller reviews on TripAdvisor” said Hesham Gabr, Camel’s founder and chairman. Your reviews matter! Add feedback about your experience at Camel on TripAdvisor and read other traveller’s reviews to help you make the right choice for your next diving holiday.
Summertime is Speedboat time
After nearly six months of operation, the best season to try our superfast speedboat has finally arrived! Can’t spend the whole day away from your non diving travel mates? Medals for Camel photographers in photo contest
Camel photographer Adolfo Maciocco won a Silver Medal in the Freshwater category of the prestigious Underwaterphotography.com photo contest. His winning shot was taken in Camel’s swimming pool which is used daily by our instructors to teach courses. The online contest is very competitive and Adolfo was up against 11134 entries! In addition to this, Erich Reboucas – who has been part of the Camel Tribe for many years - has received a Silver medal in the Wreck category of the same competition, with a brilliant shot of the SS Thistlegorm. Would you like to learn how to take stunning underwater photos? Sign up for PADI Digital Underwater Photography Specialty course, to learn how to make the most out of your pictures! This Specialty is also open to snorkellers. Cameras can be rented on the spot.
HEPCA celebrates one year of TurtleWatch in the Egyptian Red Sea
One year ago, HEPCA launched TurtleWatch – Egypt, a project aimed at involving dive centers and their guests in collecting data on marine turtle sightings. Camel has been part of the project since the very beginning and our Eco Tribe leader Catherine Bates tirelessly encourages our guests and instructors in sending monthly reports and also helped improving the TurtleWatch manual in order to make it more user-friendly. A quick summary of the achievements of this project in figures:
- A total of 951 reports sent with 484 sightings of turtles
- More than 100 dive sites monitored on a regular base
- More than 120 pictures to be used for photo-identification
