Camel Dive Club and Hotel

All our staff is proud that Camel has been voted as Dive Centre of the Year 2011 by readers of the prestigious British magazine DIVER. Hesham Gabr, who founded Camel Dive Club in 1986, flew to the London International Dive Show on 31st March to receive the award from Nigel Eaton, Editor-in-Chief of DIVER Magazine (pictured here). By receiving the award a delighted Hesham Gabr commented "We’re especially proud to have won the Award for 2011, as this is the same year in which we celebrated Camel Dive Club’s 25th birthday. Our divers have shown us huge loyalty during what was also a momentous year for Egypt, and I’d like to thank all who have supported us.” Ask to see the Oscar-like statuette next time you visit us!

Fewer tourists in Sharm, more underwater encounters

Sharm's unique attractions - which of course include a fantastic climate and some of the world’s best diving - are ever popular, but Sharm is still receiving significantly fewer visitors now than in previous years. What does this mean for us, as divers? The opportunity to enjoy spectacular and uncrowded underwater encounters, more than ever! During the past month, our divers swam with dolphins in Ras Mohammed National Park; two resident turtles delighted our student divers in Naama Bay; we’ve spotted several giant mantas, and our photographers are enthusing about the baby frogfish, rare nudibranchs and other small-but-incredible creatures we’ve seen lately. We expect tourism to return to normal levels from Autumn 2012, so make the most of our unexpected low season by visiting us while you can!
