All offers are subject to limited availability.

Meet Camel Tribe, our new boat

Length 20.5 meters, weight 120 tons and the soul of a true diver - this is Camel Tribe! Our beautiful new boat became part of the Camel family in early June. Just like Camel Hotel, which since 1997 has welcomed hundreds of divers from all over the world, our aim in building Camel Tribe was to incorporate everything that we, as divers, need in a boat. Her design incorporates advanced safety features, and an eco-friendly approach has accompanied every stage of the project. Camel Tribe was built with disabled divers in mind too – to give maximum comfort and plenty of space to move around. Camel Tribe is the first in a series of "new generation" dive boats that we plan to design and build ourselves, over the next few years. We hope that you’ll be as pleased with the results as we are, and we look forward to diving with you soon from one of our beautiful boats!

Manta rays, snappers schools, sharks and more

Summer in the Red Sea means -above all- very special sightings! You can get an idea of what we are talking about not only when diving with our experienced guides but even when you are still at home, by checking out our Facebook page. Our fan page is the favourite tool through which our guests and guides make others jealous about the beauties that our fantastic Red Sea has to offer. Check out the hammerhead shark which gave Ali and his group a very close encounter just a few days ago; look in awe at the famous school of snappers gathering at Shark Reef (Ras Mohamed National Park); let your jaw drop for the fantastic manta ray which Luca and his divers spotted in Ras Nasrani last week. We have more than 4000 diving addicts following us on Facebook. Are you there? “Like us” to stay in touch with the magic underwater world of Sharm.

Discover the Strait of Tiran with our speedboat

Summer is also the best time to try our exclusive service Tiran Express, our speedboat with which we reach Tiran in less than 20 minutes, departing from our centre at Grand Rotana Resort & Spa. Why should you choose this service? No one else in Sharm offers you up to five departure times every day, including early morning and sunset dives, when others boats are still moored at the jetty; extreme comfort for diving the “back of Jackson Reef”, during the season where we count almost daily encounters with hammerhead sharks and -not bad at all if your travelling with non-divers- the possibility to return to your hotel right after your dive. Think about it!

Learn more about sharks at Camel

Why not learn something useful while having fun? From now on at Camel you can easily learn new facts about some of the most fascinating inhabitants of the Sea –sharks. All our instructors are now qualified to teach AWARE Shark Conservation Specialty. This specialty was created by PADI and Project AWARE, with the goal of informing divers and promoting correct behaviours to protect these endangered animals, which are often unarmed victims of humans’ mistaken beliefs. By choosing to learn more about sharks on your next diving holiday, you’ll be helping to protect them all over the world!

Photos: Woodhouse Reef’s colours

This month our photographer Adolfo Maciocco shows us through his eyes the beautiful colours of Woodhouse Reef, the longest reef in the Strait of Tiran. Nestling between its neighbours Jackson and Thomas Reefs, this dive site has a varied topography, ranging from steep coral walls and drop offs at its southernmost tip, to extensive shallow coral gardens at its northern end. Woodhouse reef promises a good chance of spotting turtles and in the blue, always the possibility of “big stuff”! View the photogallery on our website or on Flickr.
