Enriched Air (NITROX) - Free for Life
Dive with enriched air (nitrox) for free, when you complete your PADI Enriched
Air (Nitrox) Speciality at Camel! This offer also applies to divers who have
previously received their nitrox certification at Camel Dive Club. It is for
life, so is valid on all future holidays at Camel.
Enriched Air diving is increasingly popular since it offers divers a real
advantage - less dissolved nitrogen in your body for any dive, compared to
breathing air. Recreational divers should consider using nitrox, since at
typical depths it can reduce the risk of decompression sickness. Divers may
also enjoy extended time to explore during a dive.
So, once you have completed your Specialty at Camel, simply present your
nitrox certification card to enjoy the benefits of diving on nitrox for free!
(Please note, this offer is for nitrox 32%, two tanks per day, subject to
availability).
Watch the World Cup at Camel
As June approaches, World Cup fever begins. Some of us will not want to miss
a single game, others will prefer to escape the football mania and search
for a tranquil place to sip sunset drinks. Fortunately, Camel caters for both
camps!
Camel Bar will show all World Cup games with live, uninterrupted coverage
on large new plasma screens. Up-to-date information on future games and results
will be available throughout June.
Alternatively, to escape football madness visit The Roof. With chilled music,
comfortable sofas, and a view of the bay, it's possible to completely forget
about what is going on downstairs!
Marco Giovannini - Camel's New Course Director
Congratulations
to Camel's new PADI Course Director, Marco Giovannini!
Marco completed his intensive Course Director
qualification this April at Kota Kinabalu, Borneo
in Malaysia. He has been Camel's Training Manager
for two years, running the Dive School and Instructor
Development Centre. He joins Course Director Paul
Toomer in teaching Camel's Instructor Development
Courses (IDCs). The ten-day IDC is the foundation
for working as a PADI Instructor. During the IDC,
Course Directors train and prepare candidates
for the PADI Instructor Examinations, maintaining
PADI's high global standards. Course Directors
also provide continuing education for instructors,
such as Specialty Instructor courses.
With five IDCs scheduled for 2006, Marco is "extremely
proud to be part of the Camel team and our successful
IDC programme. Because PADI standards are high,
professionalism, high quality service and results
are of course paramount to our IDCs. At Camel
we also provide a fun, friendly environment to
make sure candidates really enjoy their Instructor
course".
Marco is keen to build on the success of Camel's
IDCs. From August 2006, IDCs will be available
at Camel in Italian as well as in English.

St Patrick's night at Camel Bar
St Patricks Day on March 17th celebrates everything Irish: the colour green,
shamrocks, Guinness, and bands like U2 are just a few of this Saints day's
associations.
This year Camel Bar celebrated St Patrick's night with a difference! Revellers
were invited to dress as anything or anyone beginning with the letter "P".
Creative costumes ranged from punks and pimps, to pirates and paratroopers!
The winning outfit was that of the impressive Pelagic Man, also known as Camel
instructor Tom.
The atmosphere at Camel easily rivalled that of an Irish bar! In true Irish
style, guests enjoyed drinking, singing and dancing the night away. We hope
you had a very happy St Patricks Day!

Camel Dive Club's Simone Pelucchi is re-elected to SSDM Board
Camel Dive Club & Hotel is proud to announce Diving General Manager, Simone
Pelucchi has been re-elected to the new Board of Directors of the South Sinai
Association for Diving and Marine Activities (SSDM). The elections, which
61 Sharm dive centres were eligible to vote, took place on 28th February 2006.
Simone won 55 votes out of a possible 61.
SSDM developed from its predecessor the "Sharm Diving Union", which was founded
in 1998 by South Sinai's diving and marine activity pioneers. The Union aimed
to represent the interests of those working in the industry in South Sinai.
As diving and marine activities in South Sinai grew, an organization representing
diving and marine businesses, as well as professionals, became essential.
This led to the formation of SSDM in 2000, with non-governmental organization
(NGO) status. Simone Pelucchi, Camel Dive Club's diving manager, was a founder
member. He has been with Camel since 1998.
The 11 elected SSDM board members will serve until March 2012. Their responsibilities
include safety, environment, business development, marketing and promotions.
SSDM also covers the social welfare of individuals working in the diving and
marine community, including a registration card scheme for local professionals.
