News January - March 2007 at Camel Dive Club
Camel Wins the Desert Camel Race

Camel Dive Club sponsored this year's winner of
the traditional annual Bedouin Camel Race in Sharm
El Sheikh, which took place on Monday 26th March
at Wadi Zoweilaa, 4km behind Sharm in the desert.
Over one hundred people attended including Bedouins
and local residents.
The day started with a Bedouin wedding, followed
by the official "Camel race." In total there were
8 camels competing, all sponsored by hotels and
dive centres in Sharm. It was a great day out
for the local community and included a raffle,
Bedouin barbeque and music. Hesham Gabr, owner
of Camel Dive Club, was "proud to be the winning
camel! It's great that these events take place,
bringing our communities together and strengthening
relationships."
