Camel Dive Club becomes a TDI Technical Diving Facility
Camel Dive Club has become the latest Sharm el Sheikh diving centre to establish
a TDI Training Facility. Camel Dive Club's new status will enable guests to
take any of TDI's technical diving courses,
as well as enjoying guided tec dives in the Red Sea's famous Straits of Tiran
and Ras Mohammed National Park.
Camel offers recreational divers who may have dived in Sharm a few times
the chance to do something different. The Advanced Nitrox qualification can
be gained in as little as three days. So, for divers who've wondered what
it's like to go down inside the canyon on Thomas Reef, or cruise along Jackson's
plateau without your view of the reef being obscured by bubbles from below,
tec diving in Sharm could be the answer.
Technical diving is already well-established at other destinations on the
Red Sea Riviera, such as Dahab. Ian Brown, Technical Diving Manager at Camel
Dive Club, commented that "Guests can now enjoy tec diving at world-class
sites, without having to sacrifice the quality and choice of holiday facilities
found in Sharm". Another major advantage is that Sharm's diving is almost
exclusively from boats - tec divers can simply giant-stride straight into
the water rather than having to carry equipment across the beach. Camel Dive
Club's TDI Training Facility uses state-of-the art equipment from leading
Manufacturers in the technical diving market such as Apex, Custom Divers,
DiveRite and OMS.
The Egyptian law limiting maximum depth to 30m does not apply to divers registered
with an authorised technical facility. Camel's technical capability opens
up the potential for guided dives for certified trimix divers down to 100m.

Camel Dive Club presents top prize at Dutch Dive Show

Diving Holidays donated the top prize for photography,
at Duikvaker 2005, the Dutch dive show. Master
photographer Hans Leijnse was awarded the overall
top prize of a week's holiday including flights,
4* accommodation and boat diving with Camel Dive
Club & Hotel in Sharm el Sheikh, on Egypt's Red
Sea Riviera.
The Dutch dive show, held in Utrecht on 18-20th February, and was attended by diving exhibitors from around the world. Camel Dive Club & Hotel staff Clare Mucklow and Kati Vorontsova were on hand on the Diving Holidays stand, with partners from Diving Holidays' other worldwide destinations.

prizes were presented by the award-winning photographer and journalist Willem
Gingnagel, of Underwater Art. Hans' photos of a clown fish, diver with corals,
and a pygmy sea horse were winners in the categories of Best Wide Angle (digital),
Best Individual Series, and Best Fish Portrait. The winner plans to visit
Camel Dive Club in June. It's the perfect season to photograph the enormous
schools of fish that colonise Ras Mohammed National Park during the summer.

New for 2005, Camel Dive Club is now offering regular weekly excursions to Dahab. Dahab is known for its relaxed atmosphere as well as its world-class dive sites, the Blue Hole and the Canyon. Divers with Camel Dive Club visit both sites during the one-day trip. The dives are followed by relaxation at one of Dahab's famous beach cafes, before returning to Sharm. The journey to Dahab, by air conditioned Landcruiser, takes approximately one hour.
The decision to schedule weekly excursions, which are run in coordination with Orca Reisen's newly-opened dive centre in Dahab, comes in response to requests from Camel guests. "We found that our divers enjoy staying in Sharm el Sheikh's lively resort area, but want to experience the diving in Dahab as well as in Sharm. The weekly excursions enable them to do both" said Simone Pelucchi, Operations Manager at Camel Dive Club.
