In its 10th newsletter, the Red Sea Turtle Project thanked Camel instructor/eco princess Pit Kuiper, for submitting online the greatest number of turtle sightings in the Red Sea. In fact, Pit enters online the turtle sightings which have been recorded by all Camel instructors, divemasters and snorkeling guides. A big thank you to all.

We launch a new marine biology initiative
Our guests are also thirsty for knowledge, about fish, coral reefs and the diverse ecosystem of the Red Sea. Our instructors are knowledgeable about the Red Sea, but to help us give more accurate and in-depth information, we decided to bring in the experts. During summer 2009 Camel Dive Club is offering a placement to an undergraduate marine biologist who will join our daily boats and be on hand to help with briefings and logbook entries. He or she will give weekly presentations on the Red Sea’s diverse marine life. He or she will also help our instructors to track and report the migration behaviour of big and unusual marine creatures seen in our area during summer. The lucky candidate will be selected in the next few weeks, so that he or she is ready to start work with us next summer.06.12.08
