Camel Bar - How it all began
The spirit of the Camel Bar is one that most reflects the electric lifestyle of Sharm El Sheikh. Trying to fit the Camel Bar into a specific category would be as easy as pushing a camel into a shoe box! To understand how the best hangout in Sharm came together, we need to have a quick look at its history:
The Early Years
 Camel Bar originally opened in 1997. Soon after opening it received a complete overhaul by Chris, a mustachioed South African with a bright smile and an ever brighter thirst for life and beer! Camel Bar + Chris + Pete + Roxy the alsatian, became a match made in heaven! The years between 1997 and 2003 were filled with parties, music, friends, beer, peanuts and love (leading to plenty of babies for the Camel staff!)Continuing the Camel Bar Legacy
In 2003 Mike took over the Camel Bar legacy. He was the creator of Camel's famous theme parties (forget pumpkins and mass-made vampire costumes, "Halloween in Camel Bar" is a chance for residents and tourists alike to set their wildest fantasies free and come up with the most original home-made costumes you'll ever see in your life!).
In 2004 the new look Roof Bar was launched. It instantly became the chilled-out extension of the main Camel Bar. This was also due to the funky music played by the talented jazz-soul DJ Sasha. In the meantime numerous live bands took centre stage and added an extra ingredient to the continuing party in the Camel Bar downstairs.
Camel Dive Club celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2006, with a huge party at the Bar and Roof, unlike a party any old or new Sharmer had ever seen!
In 2007, the role of Camel Bar Manager was filled by the multi-talented Akram. Here is a man who can make the best shots in town with one hand and play funky tunes on a guitar with the other! Akram, Sean, Marcia, Dorothy and the Camel Bar Team await for you at the funkiest bar in town!
