Well done to all the children who entered our Colouring Competition to celebrate
World Ocean Day on 8 June! Following our successful 'Fantastic Fish' competition last year, we again involved pupils from Sharm's French and British schools in an educational and fun exercise to raise awareness about conservation. Camel videographer Carlotta Rio created four designs for colouring sheets, a turtle, shark, manta ray, and emperor angelfish, which we distributed at the schools. Each
sheet included a short text about the conservation of each creature and the agencies working to conserve them, including HEPCA, Shark Trust, Foundation for the Protection of Marine Megafauna, and Project AWARE. The competition attracted over 100 entries, from which we selected the winners based on colouring accuracy and imagination! Congratulations to
Ambra (aged 6) and
Elia (7) from the French school, and runners up
Adam Mohammed (3),
Malika (9) and
Mia (10).
Seif took first prize at the British school with
Jeanne and
Ludovico a close second (all aged 7). Winners received goody bags from
Tribe shop and ice cream from
Vanilla! Many thanks to Cath Bates for organising this initiative.
