To promote awareness of International Year of Biodiversity 2010, Camel Eco Tribe coordinator Cath Bates organised an art competition with local schools. Nearly 50 children from French and British schools in Sharm El Sheikh created spectacular drawings, paintings and collages with the theme ‘Fantastic Fish’. We displayed their artwork during April and May at our dive centre in Naama Bay. The overall winner was Alexandra Salama, aged 5, with her colourful fish collage (see picture). Alexandra’s prize is a year’s sponsorship of a manta ray for her school, via the Foundation for the Protection of Marine Megafauna . Runners-up received goodie bags from the Camel Tribe shop.
