Great success for our latest PADI IDC candidates

Great success for our latest PADI IDC candidatesCongratulations to Camel’s latest IDC candidates on achieving a 100% success rate in their Instructor exams this June. Coming from a wide range of countries, ages, backgrounds and experience levels, Miriam Tresch (Swiss), Mary-Ann Ryan (Scottish), Dietmar Lorenz (German), Ali Gabr (Egyptian), Carl Johan Svensson (Swedish), Ian Palmer (British) and Indira Zompi (Italian) developed an excellent team spirit during the course. They were assisted by PADI Staff Instructor Omar, with Camel in-house Course Director and Training Manager Bianca Greiner, providing her usual expert guidance. Bianca also received a big compliment from the PADI examiner Dave Griffiths for the great marks and for Camel having the biggest group of IDC candidates in Sharm this June. After a well-deserved celebration in Camel Bar, the team started PADI Specialty Instructor Courses. Ali and Miriam will be part of the Camel tribe as soon as they’ll receive their PADI cards! Next IDC starts on 29th August. if you would like to have a chat about the course.

New ‘heart healthy’ dishes at Camel’s Tandoori

New ‘heart healthy’ dishes at Camel’s TandooriAfter a break in his native India, our Chef Abhay has returned to Sharm El Sheikh with a mission: to make Camel's Tandoori the only Indian restaurant in Egypt offering food that is both delicious and good for your heart. To achieve this aim, since 1 February Chef Abhay uses top-quality olive oil in all dishes which previously contained butter. Health professionals recommend that we replace saturated fats in our diet, such as butter, with unsaturated or ‘heart-healthy’ fats like olive oil. Saturated fats are linked to high cholesterol levels, which can lead to heart disease, whereas unsaturated fats can actually lower cholesterol levels. According to Chef Abhay, “There is growing evidence of the health benefits of cooking with olive oil. I’m delighted that the dishes I prepare are now heart-healthy as well as tasty.” Chef Abhay counts Chicken Madras, and for those who like milder spices, Lamb Kebab and Chicken Tikka Masala, amongst his signature dishes. Guests dining at Tandoori may now enjoy these and other delicious dishes on the extensive menu, including freshly baked naan breads and mouth-watering vegetable items – without heart-health worries.
